Dear Family,

It was such a pleasure to meet with you all this last Saturday and I am looking forward to seeing you again at the reunion.  Mean while, Debbie and I thought it would be a good idea to send you an email with (hopefully) understandable directions for starting the George and Minnie Kidd History.  As we discussed, we would like to give an assignment for each family of George and Minnie’s children to help us put this together. We would like each family representative to pass these instructions on to their siblings, and their own children, and be responsible for getting the information back to us.  Debbie and I will try to take care of George and Minnie’s ancestor  histories from what is already available.

Family representatives are:

Fern Kidd:  Terry Kidd

Nelda MacPherson: Debbie Buckner

Earl Kidd: Joel Kidd

Jack Kidd: Norma Olsen

Clark Kidd: Robert Kidd

 

Instructions for the family representatives are:

  1. Get with your parents if they are still living and see what you can get from them for their chapter. I can be as much as they like. If the parent has passed away, check for histories they may have written, or with your siblings to get information from them, which can include the following for each family.
  2. Before marriage
  3. Courtship, marriage
  4. Family life, things done as families, positive memories of attributes, talents (same as above), special family experiences and lots of pictures.
  5. Spiritual experiences
  6. Send the included .pdf notice to your siblings for your histories (3rd generation) which explains their responsibilities for the book
  7. Gather a complete descendancy chart For the 2nd generation (your parents). You do not have to do this all by yourself.  Ask for help from each of your siblings or your parents.  We would like this by the reunion in June.
  8. Keep checking back with your siblings to see how they are coming, until they get their part turned in.

 

  1. As the histories come in please check for correct attributes. We want them to be kind, encouraging and please, no negative gossip.  If someone has a spiritual experience of their own to show a positive outcome through something negative, it should only come from the person involved.
  2. Curtis will have instructions for uploading onto the Kidd History website at the reunion, I believe. Or you can email or mail to Debbie or I.

  1. Finally, for the 1st generation (George and Minnie) we have a request and ask that you pass this request on to your parents?

We could surely use help on George and Minnie’s histories from their living

children and spouses.  They both died young and we don’t have a lot of personal

knowledge of them.  Please let us know what you would like us to do.  Do you

want us to personally visit with a tape recorder?  Or do you have printed

information that we can use?  I know at some of our reunions, we had taping of stories about them that would be really helpful.
